A book written by a Czech and illustrated by a Slovak has been awarded at this year‘s Bologna Children’s Book Fair, considered the Oscars for children’s books. The book “Myko” by Jiří Dvořák, illustrated by Daniela Olejníková, won first prize in the category ‘non-fiction.’ The jury said: “This book impressively covers current knowledge about the complex fungi kingdom. Conceived to appeal to readers of all age groups, it perfectly combines scientifically accurate content with striking, contemporary graphic design. It is a volume that is rich in detail, innovative in composition, and visually breathtaking.“
