Introducing Romani fashion designer Monika Vontszemuova coming from Slovakia. Monika works for the ROMADE project and she designs plus size fashion as well. In the interview for Radio Slovakia International, she shared her journey from a young girl doing screen printing at home to designing several collections.

I am aware of my identity, I claim my Roma identity, but I don’t see myself as a Roma fashion designer within the craft. Until I started working for the ROMADE project, I never used my Roma identity in my work. In jewellery making, my Roma blood has been proven, because I create great gold jewellery, which can be related to my origins.
