I think the most fundamental thing that is the key for understanding both the Romani identity, but also Romani literature, would be the fact that Roma live at least in two dimensions, according to Marushiakova and Popov. One is the community dimension – which Roma group you belong to, and that is the fundamental element of every Roma individual, but also the society belonging.
