UNESCO in Slovakia - Eighth round

UNESCO in Slovakia - Eighth round

As part of this year's UNESCO Treasures RSI competition, we have presented to you both tangible and natural Slovak heritage of world significance. The remaining three parts of the competition are going to be dedicated to intangible heritage: so you can look forward to the fujara shepherd's pipe, puppet theatre and wire craft. Today, we are going to introduce you to the first Slovak inscription on the UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage that took place 15 years ago. The eighth round of the competition was prepared by Elena Seeber.

If you have listened to the sound of the fujara carefully, you may already know the answer to the following competition question:

What was and still is the fujara compared to by fujara players?
