European Commission to reimburse Slovakia for COVID pass costs

Slovakia will receive €1 million from the European Commission to cover the costs of issuing EU Digital COVID Certificates, TASR learnt on Thursday from the Health Ministry. Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky has already signed a grant agreement for this purpose. "In order to issue EU Digital COVID Certificates, EU-member states incurred costs to be reimbursed by the European Commission. The money will be paid to member states, including Slovakia, under the European Union's Emergency Support Instrument," the minister explained. The EU digital COVID pass serves as proof that the holder has been vaccinated against COVID-19, has tested negative for the disease or has overcome the disease. An individual can use the certificate both in Slovakia and abroad.
