Barbara Coudenhove-Kalergi was born in Prague in Czechoslovakia in 1932 in a noble family with mixed Austrian, Greek and Japanese ancestry. After WWII her family was forced to leave Czechoslovakia and settled in Austria where Barbara became a journalist. As a correspondent for the Austrian public broadcaster ORF she covered the events leading to the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe. She is still active in public life, and granted an interview to Radio Slovakia International during her visit to Bratislava as a guest of the special edition of the Central European Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.
