Real-estate prices haven't been dropping lately and probably won't do so even in the foreseeable future, as the current crisis differs from that of 2008, analyst Rudolf Bruchanik of Bencont Investments has told TASR. "In 2008, the amount of available real estate on the market was record breaking, but today the figure has fallen to a record low. That's why the 2008 crisis was followed by sales and a steep fall [in prices], while at the moment the conditions for such a drop haven't been met," explained Bruchanik.
Bruchanik is of the opinion that sellers will now play a waiting game to see how events turn out and won't start lowering their prices in panic. "We expect a price drop if there is a grave and especially long-lasting crisis accompanied by significant growth in unemployment," he added.
