"The future of the world will hinge mostly on how the most economically developed states put to use digitization", Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid stated during Globsec 2020 Bratislava virtual summit on Wednesday. The Estonian President is one of the key speakers of the summit, along senior EU and NATO representatives as well as a rocket engineer who participated in the exploration of Mars. The virtual version of the Globsec 2020 conference is slated to take place between 26 and 28 August. This year the event places the main focus on ways the coronavirus pandemic informs state policies, the bolstering of ties between European members and the USA, growth in China's geopolitical clout, economic issues in the context of Central Europe and the EU, and the role of digital media. Furthermore, guests will also discuss the current situation prevailing in Belarus and Lebanon.
According to the Estonian president Kersti Kaljulaid, the greatest challenge with respect to COVID-19 safety measures was the introduction of online school classes. Yet the model is now here to stay, with Estonia entertaining the introduction of online education one day each week even in post-outbreak days.
