Prime Minister Igor Matovič fell in the rankings mapping the most trusted politicians, indicates a survey carried by the Focus agency. In September, only approximately one third (32%) of respondents declared that they trust him compared to almost one half (48%) in April 2020. Moreover 66% of respondents said that they do not trust the PM compared to only 44% less than half a year ago.
President Zuzana Čaputová is viewed as the most trusted senior state official, enjoying the confidence of 66% of the respondents. Former PM Peter Pellegrini, now leader of the emerging opposition Voice-SD party came second (51%), followed by Speaker of Parliament Boris Kollár of We Are Family (35%), Economy Minister Richard Sulík (Freedom and Solidarity), 34%, followed by Prime Minister Igor Matovič (Ordinary People) - 32%, and Investments Minister Veronika Remišová (For the People) - 29%. The most distrusted politician is Marian Kotleba of the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia who was chosen by 81% of those polled for this category, followed by former PM Robert Fico with 77% followed by the current PM Igor Matovič.
The focus agency conducted the poll between August 26 and September 2, 2020 on a sample of 1,022 respondents.
