The Labour Ministry in collaboration with job centres is launching new projects to raise employment in Slovakia. The help will be provided in three phases with the second one launched on October 1. The overall sum allocated for these projects is €110 million which should help to employ 32 thousand currently unemployed people.
The support is divided into three phrases. The first started in July, the second one on Thursday and the third one will start in December 2020. While the first phase was focused on supporting university graduates, the second part should help start new businesses with the sum of almost €5600.
Everyone who has been registered at a job centre for at least a month and has asked for a business license is eligible to support of €233 per month for the next 2 years. Labour Minister Milan Krajniak explains: "Also those who terminated their business in April and May can apply for the help. The main condition is that they will have to run their business for the next two years at least."
Job centres will pay half the wage for employees of firms which employ a registered applicant. Milan Krajniak: "66% of the total cost of labour, a maximum of €950 for 6 months without the condition of sustaining the job. The second option is 85%, a maximum of €1222 per month but the employer will be obliged to keep the particular applicant for the next three months."
The third option is aimed at social care facilities which should be paid 95% of total labour costs for new employees for 9 months, a maximum of €1366.
