EC: Slovakia's GDP should grow faster than in EU

The autumn economic prognosis released by the European Commission on Thursday indicates that Slovakia's economic growth in the upcoming two years should be slightly faster than the average for the 19-member eurozone and 27-member EU. According to the EC's prognosis, the eurozone's GDP will fall by 7.8 percent this year, while Slovakia's should drop by 7.7 percent. Meanwhile, the pace of GDP growth in 2021 and 2022 should be slower than originally expected in both the EU and eurozone. In 2021, GDP growth in the eurozone should reach 4.2 percent, with the EU's at 4.1 percent. Slovakia's should stand at 4.7 percent. In 2022, both the eurozone and the EU should post GDP growth of 3 percent, while Slovakia's is estimated at 4.3 percent.
