A new state strategic industrial park spanning about 65 hectares is to be built near the town of Rimavska Sobota (Banska Bystrica region), according to a motion that the Economy Ministry has submitted for comments. According to the ministry, the purpose of the park is to help make Slovakia ready for the arrival of a large potential investor, comparable in size to the BMW car maker. In the past, BMW has opted for Hungary over Slovakia due to the latter's lack of land ready for construction. It is expected that about 500 new jobs will be created in the industrial park.
