The failure in the supply of semiconductor components necessary for production caused the cessation of production in the Stellantis car plant, Trnava, on Saturday. According to Peter Švec, the spokesman of the company, the main reason behind the entire situation is the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, production was also stopped on one production shift on Sunday and the carmaker must take the same step on Monday on two work shifts. Stellantis is working intensively on the possibilities of delivering the necessary parts and will inform its employees about the development of the situation, "said Švec. Stellantis N.V. is a multinational car manufacturer, which was formed in 2021 by the merger of the Italian-American company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French company Groupe PSA (formerly PSR Peugeot Citroën).
