The number of job offers available on Profesia.sk, the largest job website in Slovakia, this March exceeded 20,000, making it the most successful month on the labour market since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. IT jobs were the most frequently available, replacing those in trade. IT jobs made up over 17 percent of total vacancies. Manufacturing also experienced a revival as compared to previous months. March saw 3,505 job offers in this sector, the largest number over the past two years. Jobs such as production operators, assembly line workers, programmers and warehouse workers predominated in this sector.
Tourism, gastronomy and the hotel sector experienced its worst-ever quarter. The website only reported 615 job offers in the sector for the first three months of the year. They most frequently concerned kitchen staff. At the same time the highest levels of interest among job seekers in the first quarter of this year were in fast food outlet staff, followed by kitchen assistants, secretaries, couriers and receptionists.
