The foreign affairs ministers of Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, along with their Czech counterpart, have expressed their solidarity with the Czech Republic, which decided to expel 18 Russian diplomats over the weekend, condemning activities jeopardising the security of sovereign countries, TASR has learnt from the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry. The four foreign affairs ministers did so via a declaration they adopted on Monday at the suggestion of Slovak head of diplomacy Ivan Korčok (an SaS nominee)."We, the foreign affairs ministers of the Visegrad Group countries, condemn all activities aimed at jeopardising the security of sovereign countries and their people. We are ready to bolster our countries' resilience against subversive activities on the national, NATO and EU levels," reads the declaration.
The Czech Republic announced over the weekend that it was expelling 18 diplomats who have been identified as secret agents from the Russian Embassy in Prague, citing alleged involvement of the Russian secret services in an explosion at a munitions warehouse in the country seven years ago. The Czech police have reported that in connection with the incident, they're searching for two Russians - the same individuals who were allegedly involved in the Skripal poisoning attack in Salisbury in the UK in 2018. Meanwhile, Russia has decided to expel 20 Czech diplomats in reaction to the Czech Republic's moves.
