Business regulation to loosen under '1 in-2 out' rule

Business regulations will be gradually loosened, Economy Minister Richard Sulik (SaS) announced at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Along with ministry state secretary Jan Oravec, Sulik informed the media that any future regulatory changes will be guided by the rule "1 in-2 out", meaning that the introduction of one regulation into the business legislation will be offset by the scrapping of another two.
He added that the plan is to see Slovakia start climbing the global competitiveness charts again following its years of decline.

Oravec elaborated that the "in-out" principle will first be applied only in the form "1 in-1 out" between June 1-December 31 and transform into the "1 in-2 out" as of 2022. The only exemption from the rule will be taxes and levies, as well as coronavirus-related restrictions.
