The recovery of Slovak retail revenues following the easing of anti-pandemic measures continued in May, said UniCredit Bank analyst Lubomir Korsnak in his commentary on the retail revenue figures published by the Slovak Statistics Office on Tuesday.
"According to data released by the Statistics Office, retail revenues (seasonally adjusted) grew by 1.4 percent on average in May, while year-on-year growth remained unchanged from April at 11.5 percent. However, the pace of year-on-year growth was still 'inflated' by last year's low comparison base. Probably thanks partly to a part of deferred consumption, revenues are gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels," he said.
