The energy market regulator Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (ÚRSO) estimates that producers of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES) and high-efficiency combined heat and power (CHP) will receive a total of €387.48 million this year. As compared to last year this is a decrease of about €80 million, said the office on Tuesday. Support for green energy is financed by customers as part of their electricity bills, within the so-called tariffs for the operation of the system, which makes up about one-fifth of the final price of electricity for Slovak households. Green energy producers thus receive subsidies that cover the difference between the real price of electricity on the market and the purchase price that is guaranteed by the state.
