Up to 64% of Slovaks actively manage their finances via their mobile phones, according to a new survey conducted by UniCredit Bank. The mobile phone dominates in finance management also in terms of time and frequency of use. Slovaks mostly use it to submit payment orders, check their balance, and confirm online payments, according to a the survey. It revealed that 45% of Slovaks use exclusively their smartphones with the relevant application, while 32% still prefer Internet banking, and 19% combine both these options.
The mobile phone is a popular option also with standing orders, which are used by a quarter of the respondents. QR code payment has also been a huge trend in recent years.
UniCredit conducted their research into the use of mobile banking versus Internet banking on the Czech and Slovak market in July 2021, via the online panel of market research leader Ipsos. 982 respondents from the Czech Republic and 1,010 from Slovakia participated in the survey.
