It will become legal in Slovakia to publish polling results even three days before elections, according to a bill passed by Parliament on Thursday. The so-called election moratorium will be shortened to just 48 hours before the day of the vote. If regional and municipal elections are held on the same day, election campaign expenditures will be capped for political parties at €1.5 million maximum. If these elections are held separately, the limit will be set to €750,000. In addition, banks will have to set up transparent accounts for any political party in the race, if it asks for it. The Interior Ministry will also be invested with the power to identify donors of financial resources.
