The President recently appointed Slovakia’s first ever caretaker government (úradnická vláda). It will be led by former National Bank Vice-Govenor Ludovit Odor and will run the country until a new government will be appointed after September’s early elections. So what does this mean for the country? For the citizens and the rest of us living here? For Slovakia’s support of the Ukraine and other important foreign affairs?
To get some answers to these and other important questions, Ben Pascoe talked with constitutional expert and for member of Slovak Parliament Radoslav Procházka, political analyst and founder of the Slovak Institute for Public Affairs (IVO) Grigorij Mesežnikov and former MP and MEP for SMER-SD Boris Zala.
In this show we will discuss:
What the experts expect and what we should expect from the caretaker government
If it was necessary for the President to appoint such a government
What are the biggest challenges facing the caretaker government
What are the biggest problems facing Slovakia today
