The Prime Minister on Monday used a visit to reopen a kindergarten and elementary school to encourage local government. At the school, in the village of Častá in the Pezinok region, he praised the municipality for the speed with which they completed the project, with EU money.
He said he wants to have closer cooperation with local governments to speed up the use of EU funds, which are ready and waiting. “We have in front of us a huge package of money in European funds, which the state will find very difficult to use up, so we want to come to an agreement with local, but especially regional, municipalities in order to transfer the largest amount of money to these municipalities," he said.
This is also one of the reason the government earlier simplified the rules for regional tenders for infrastructure and other works.
