On December 1, Slovakia joined World AIDS day. On this occasion, the Public Health Authority informed that new cases of HIV infection have been registered. Two years ago, 86 infected people were recorded which was the highest number of cases within one year. Last year, the same number of new cases occurred. Slovakia, however, still belongs to the EU member states with the lowest number of HIV infection cases.
