New political party might be founded soon

On Sunday, a platform called Progresívne Slovensko or Progressive Slovakia started to collect signatures to transform itself into a political movement, announced a member of the preparation committee, Michal Truban. "We do not aim to be just another party finding its place in politics, we want to be a movement which will turn Slovakia into a better place." said Truban. The preparation committee also includes the activist and investor Ivan Štefunko, and a lawyer fighting against extremism and cyberbullying, Irena Biháriová. Progresívne Slovensko is the third political formation which announced its establishment after the General election in March 2016. Last October, the mayor of the city of Trenčín Richard Rybníček announced his intention to create a party called TOSKA, and this April two independent MPs, Miroslav Beblavý and Jozef Mihal, also announced the formation of their party.
