Slovak president echoes the need for better universities

During his working visit to the United States, Slovak President Andrej Kiska visited the Volkswagen Electronics Research Lab in Silicon Valley. There he spoke with the Lab's representatives about how research centres are being created and what should be done in Slovakia so that it could host similar centres. According to the president, the answer lies in skilled people from good universities. In this regard, Andrej Kiska echoed his previous statement that Slovakia should close at least one third of its universities as they do not provide the necessary level of quality education. As part of his business trip, the Slovak president accompanied by the vice-premier for investments, Peter Pellegrini, will also visit Facebook and LinkedIn.
