There has been no discussion in the ruling coalition about whether they will be interested in seeking a joint candidate for the post of president or whether each of the Smer-SD, Slovak National Party (SNS), and Most-Hid parties will have their own candidate in the first round of the elections. Smer's chairman Robert Fico thinks that each of the parties will have their own candidate and then the second round of elections might show whether they are able to join forces and support the best one. At the same time, he confirmed once again that he was not interested in running and has not yet spoken to any suitable candidate.
