Deputy Justice Minister Monika Jankovská is stepping down. "This whole media and political circus is affecting my family, my sons and my mother, who have nothing to do with politics," she announced at Tuesday's press conference. Jankovská maintains that she did not communicate with Marián Kočner and does not know him. In her words, her mobile phone was not confiscated but she handed it over voluntarily along with all passwords because she has nothing to hide. Moreover, she pointed out that the entire alleged communication has been extracted from a phone that was in the hands of former intelligence agent Peter Tóth. Monika Jankovská will not retire, but wants to continue working as a judge. Suspicions continue to surround her, according to which she's been involved in the criminal activities of the controversial entrepreneur, who has been charged with ordering the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak.
