Zuzana Čaputová supports the call by EU-member countries demanding arms export suspension for Turkey. "Turkey's military offensive is weakening the efforts of the international community in the fight against the Islamic State, which still poses a threat to European and global security," she stated via social media. Čaputová is also concerned that due to the escalating conflict between Turkey and the Kurdish militia, a new wave of migration crisis could re-emerge in Europe with all its repercussions. According to the Slovak president, populists and extremists could misuse this topic in order to influence elections and stir up social tensions.
