Slovaks working close to Hungarian border can cross it

The Komarno-Komarom and Sturovo-Esztergom border crossings by the Danube River has opened on the Hungarian side for passenger transport after the Slovak and Hungarian Police Corps presidents agreed on this on Thursday. Police Corps Presidium spokesperson Denisa Bardyova, meanwhile, noted that the obligation still holds for Slovaks living or working within 30 kilometres of the Slovak-Hungarian border to their show the border patrols their identity cards or passports, residence cards and confirmation from their employers or labour contracts. "The Moravsky Svaty Jan-Hohenau crossing on the Slovak-Austrian border will be open for passenger transport from 6 a.m. on Monday (March 23)," said Bardyova, adding that the police have been publishing updated information on border crossings on a social network.
