Foreign Affairs Minister welcomes the €750-billion EU recovery plan

The European Commission (EC) is coming up with an absolutely historic and unprecedented proposal in terms of volume as well as tools to help EU member states, Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee) said on the 'CD Club' discussion show on Tablet.tv, in response to the €750-billion plan to recover the European economy presented by European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen to the European Parliament on Wednesday (May 27). "If someone had told me this three months ago, I'd have told him that it was an absolute theory and utopia," said Korcok, noting that it is proof that Europeans in crisis are coming up with something that will move them further. "I believe that this crisis may turn into a chance for Slovakia. I'd like us to use it as a modernisation tool for this country in the field of the economy and digitisation," stated the head of Slovak diplomacy.
