Survey shows that Slovak science has highest credibility

The Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) is enjoying its highest level of credibility among the Slovak population ever. According to a recent Focus agency survey, it is trusted by 74 percent of people, which is the highest proportion of respondents among all monitored institutions. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,011 respondents between May 14- 21. The Slovak Academy of Sciences is completely trusted by one in five Slovaks (20.4 percent). "Slovaks expressed a higher share of full trust (28 percent) only in the Slovak president [Zuzana Caputova]," said SAV spokeswoman Monika Hucakova. The Slovak Armed Forces, Slovak universities and the Slovak president enjoyed the highest levels of trust after the SAV. The results of similar surveys in 2016 and 2018 show the stability of trust in the SAV. Slovak Academy of Sciences Chairman Pavol Sajgalik pointed out that the SAV also recorded the lowest level of 'complete distrust' - 4.8 percent.
