For the People Vice-chairwoman Veronika Remisova, who is a vice-premier and the minister of investments, regional development and informatisation, will run for the post of chairwoman of this coalition party. In her statement, Remisova said that she had accepted the nomination proposal. "The party achieved in Bratislava the best election result of all regions, so the nomination in this region is very important," she said. In interviews given to the SME and Novy Cas dailies on Friday, outgoing party chair Andrej Kiska declared that Remisova as a seasoned politician should accept the challenge and run for the top party post. Kiska recently announced that he would only remain as For the People chair until the August congress and that he would not run for the post at the congress. Remisova has been standing in for him as acting leader since the general election in February.
