The investigation into the visa-issuing process at the Consulate General in St. Petersburg and the Slovak Embassy in Moscow is still afoot, chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korčok (SaS nominee) stated on Wednesday. Korčok spoke in the context of Slovakia's decision this week to expel three Russian diplomats whose actions "were in breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic relations" because of their involvement with Russian intelligence services. On Tuesday (August 11), the ministry declared that the visas issued by the Slovak Consulate General in St. Petersburg had been misused to commit a crime on the soil of another EU and NATO member state, Germany. Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď (OĽaNO) is convinced that the visas were issued based on counterfeited documents.
