Slovak firefighters help put out wildfires on Greek island Evia

Members of the Firefighter and Emergency Corps (HaZZ) are helping to contain large-scale wildfires in Greece, the press department of the Interior Minister's Office announced on Tuesday, adding that Slovak firefighters are present on the island of Evia (Euboea), the most affected by the fires.

The group, composed of 31 firefighters and ten pieces of equipment, has been intervening in the field for several hours. On Sunday morning Slovakia sent 75 firefighters with 30 pieces of equipment to Greece to help put out extensive forest fires, Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) announced on the same day.
