According to Ministry of Environment state secretary Michal Kiča, the package of legislative proposals of the European Commission called "Fit for 55" is a great opportunity for Slovakia. The goals of carbon neutrality and green transformation of the economy are key for the Slovak Republic. Kiča stated this after a meeting of the Commission for European Affairs (a platform for interdepartmental coordination and identification of Slovak interests in the context of European affairs).
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry state secretary Martin Klus stated that "Fit for 55" is one of the largest, most important and most ambitious packages of EU legislative proposals in recent years, and creates conditions for a more sustainable future and a healthier environment.
"I welcome the fact that we have agreed on half a dozen strategically important priorities and proposals that are in the national interest. These priorities mainly concern the areas of environment, energy, transport, agriculture and finance," added State Secretary Martin Klus.
