Following the talks with Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Wopke Hoekstra in Bratislava on Wednesday, Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok thanked the Dutch government for its decision to help Slovakia defend itself. "There is no greater expression of closeness of relationships and trust than when you send your own units of men and women to another state," said Ivan Korcok, thanking the Netherlands on behalf of the Government as well as the whole of Slovakia in this regard for the deployment of units that will be part of the defence and that will operate the Patriot system. "We don't only want to declare unity verbally but also to show this in deeds," Hoekstra said in response, adding that this is the reason why they will deploy troops in Slovakia. According to Korcok, the political relations between the Netherlands and Slovakia are very positive and intense while both partners plan to move them further. He emphasised that, in addition to political relations, economic cooperation and cultural cooperation play an important role in the bilateral cooperation.
