The final farewell for the late Cardinal Jozef Tomko will be held in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican at 11 a.m. on Thursday (August 11). The coffin with the remains of the late Cardinal Jozef Tomko will also be displayed in the Slovak capital city – Bratislava on Friday and Saturday (August 12 and 13), the Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS)'s press office has confirmed for TASR. The cardinal's remains will be available for public veneration between 9 and 12 a.m. on these two days in St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava. Then, the cardinal's remains will be transferred to Kosice, where his funeral will take place in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral on Tuesday (August 16). The funeral in Kosice will start at 11 a.m. It was Tomko's wish to be buried in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral in the city. The service will be led by Czech Archbishop emeritus, Cardinal Dominik Duka. The public will be able to honour the memory of Cardinal Tomko in Kosice. "In line with the liturgical schedule, Cardinal Tomko's remains will be displayed for public veneration in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday (August 14) and between 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. on Monday (August 15)," the Kosice Archdiocese has announced. Cardinal Tomko died in Rome on Monday (August 8) at the aged of 98.
