Slovak firefighters will continue to fight the fire in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park in the Czech Republic until Friday (August 12) at the latest, the Firefighter and Rescue Corps posted on a social network on Tuesday. "Although the situation with the fire in our neighbour is gradually stabilising, the firefighters still have about 80 hectares to extinguish, which is less than a tenth of the original area," said HaZZ, adding that in addition to the firefighters, a helicopter belonging to the Interior Ministry's aviation department is also at the scene. "Our helicopter crew has managed to drop 728 loads of water onto the area of the fire, which represents an incredible 2.2 million litres of water," said Firefighter and Rescue Corps. The forest fire broke out in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park on July 24. Slovak firefighters have been helping to put it out since July 27.
