Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď denied that Slovakia's MiG-29 fighter jets are in Ukraine, thus reacting to news that appeared on social networks. “This is false information. They are still in Sliač (Banska Bystrica region) and will protect our airspace until the end of August,” explained the Minister. He added that people will be able to see them at the Slovak International Air Fest (SIAF) on August 27, which will be an official farewell with them. Once Slovakia's MiG-29s are grounded, the country's airspace will be protected by the Czech Republic and Poland until the new F-16 fighter jets are delivered.
