Interim Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) on Tuesday honoured the memory of the victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Turkey by leaving a message in a condolence book at the Turkish embassy in Slovakia, TASR has learnt from the Government Office.
"I deeply regret all the loss of life and the enormous material damage caused to Turkey by the recent devastating earthquake. Our prayers go out to the victims, and our hearts go out to their relatives, friends and the people of Turkey," wrote Heger.
A 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit the area of the Turkish-Syrian border on February 6. According to the local authorities, the disaster has claimed more than 37,000 lives in the two countries. (TASR)
