Interim Economy Minister Karel Hirman has signed a decree temporarily banning the entry of selected agricultural products and foodstuffs from Ukraine or originating in Ukraine into Slovakia, Economy Ministry spokesperson Maria Pavlusik has told TASR.
The decree took effect on the day of its announcement. Pavlusik specified that the Economy Ministry's decree bans entry of selected products and foodstuffs from Ukraine or of Ukrainian origin into the territory of Slovakia for the purpose of free circulation, active processing, final use or customs storage. Only transit of these products will be allowed.
The decree prohibits, for example, imports of grain, various kinds of sugar, seeds, sugar beets, vinegar, honey, beeswax, as well as vegetables and fruits from Ukraine to Slovakia.
The Government approved the above ban at its special session on Monday (April 17).
