Bratislava City Transport fares to go up by 20 percent as of July

Almost all fares on Bratislava's public city transport will go up by 20 percent as of July 1, Bratislava mayor Matus Vallo announced on Wednesday.

Vallo called this a necessary step if the city wants to maintain the current extent and quality of transport services in the face of the current shortfall in its incomes. According to him, the increase will not apply to prepaid passes for children from six to 18 years of age.
