German group to invest €110 million in Southern Slovakia

Slovak government representatives signed a contract with German metal processing company Winkelmann which is set to invest €110 million in an industrial park in Rimavska Sobota in Southern Slovakia. The investment is expected to help create new 450 jobs, with production expected to be launched at the beginning of 2025. The government is set to contribute €41 million in investment aid.

According to PM Ludovit Odor, Rimavska Sobota is an underdeveloped area with an unemployment rate of approximately 13 percent. The move could thus be translated into an improvement in the economic situation in the area.
