Bratislava I City Court on Thursday handed down a 15-year unconditional sentence to Dusan Dedecek, the driver who killed five people under the influence of alcohol in Bratislava in October of last year. The defendant pleaded guilty at the session on the same day. In addition to the sentence, Dedecek has received a ten-year ban on driving motor vehicles and three years of protective supervision. Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka has ordered a Bratislava regional prosecutor to file an appeal today against the ruling as he finds the punishment to be too lenient.
