Jozef Šuvada became the Slovak ambassador for global health. He was awarded the honorary position by the Minister of Health, Michal Palkovič. TASR was informed about this by the communication department of the department. Šuvada currently represents Slovakia in the Governing Council of the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition to international scientific, research and humanitarian organizations, he is also active in the International Society of Pediatric Oncology, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Doctors Without Borders. He is also a Research Fellow at the WHO Collaborating Center at McMaster University.
At the same time, he participates in humanitarian projects in South Sudan, Uganda and the Middle East. The minister highlighted his work and commitment. "Professor Šuvada's professional and personal involvement in activities aimed at global health, as well as the respect gained in professional circles, contribute significantly to the spread of Slovakia's good name and, last but not least, support the improvement of health policies in Slovakia," he added.
