Some of the Slovak firefighters who went to the Greek island of Rhodos to help fight the huge fires there will be transferred to Olympia. Others will return to Slovakia. Over the weekend, the firefighters were deployed near the village of Vati, where they set up a water pumping station to fill the vehicles of local firefighters. They also monitored the fire and extinguished several small local fires. Bianka Kralovicova, spokesperson for the Presidium of the Fire and Rescue Service, said that the situation on Rhodos had improved in recent days. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to send the whole Slovak team there. As a result, part of the team will move to the city of Pireus and from there to Olympia.
