Part of the Mantis very short-range missile defence system will be delivered to a military unit in Nitra on Tuesday. Slovakia will receive the system from Germany. Defence ministry spokeswoman Maria Precner said it will be radar equipment plus spare parts. She added that Slovakia appreciates Germany's decision to strengthen the protection of our eastern border with Ukraine. Slovakia will receive two Mantis systems free of charge. This is based on good relations, professional negotiations and NATO's common goal of strengthening and protecting the eastern border. She added that the ministry will inform the public when the entire system has been delivered and will present it later.
