The several-hour interrogation of Roman Konecny, head of the National Security Agency, at the National Criminal Investigation Department in Zilina has ended. He was not detained. He told the media that he was still facing charges and that a complaint had been filed in the case.
According to him, he sees no reason to resign from his post and will therefore start work today, Tuesday. On Thursday (17 August), the NAKA charged several people in the Rozuzlenie case. Among them were the heads of the Slovak Information Service. He was released on Sunday morning (20 August). A total of five people have been charged.
The charges relate to a criminal group aimed at obstructing or hindering investigations into corruption and other crimes, creating the impression that investigators were manipulating witness testimony, and discrediting law enforcement agencies. Two people were charged with abuse of public office for revenge.
