During a government session, a decision was made to dismiss the head of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS), Michal Aláč, due to charges against him related to criminal activities and misuse of power. The responsibility for carrying out the dismissal lies with President Zuzana Caputova. The charges stemmed from the National Crime Agency's Operation Resolution. President Caputova's spokesperson confirmed that the dismissal will take effect on Thursday, August 24. In the interim, the deputy director Tomas Rulisek, who has experience in SIS and international relations, will assume full directorial responsibilities in accordance with SIS statutes.
