Possible tornado at Podhajska Thermal Baths being investigated

The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) is examining the possible occurrence of a tornado at the premises of the Podhajska thermal spa in the district of Nove Zamky (Nitra region.
 The thermal baths have been closed until further notice due to the damage caused.
 The result of the examination might be known in upcoming days or weeks. "All available materials, measurements and on-site examination must be assessed," said the SHMU. Therefore, it is impossible to confirm or deny the potential occurrence of a tornado at the thermal baths at the moment.
 There were strong storms chiefly in western Slovakia in the night from Monday to Tuesday. The worst situation was in Nitra region, where firefighters were helping in 66 cases. The storms caused power outages in western Slovakia, leaving over 50,000 households without electricity. The adverse weather also affected the operation of the railway service.
